Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC)
AMC is administered by Australian Mathematics Trust. The contest is held annually usually on the first week of August, on a Thursday. It is aim at a wide variety of students from Years 3 to 12. However, in our centres we only register students from Years 3 to 10.
Main objective of the contest is to identify the strength and weakness of students in Mathematical thinking skill and application.
The earlier problems may use familiar mathematics while the later problems are more difficult and are intended to challenge. It is not a test on the curriculum but an opportunity for students to display or discover their problem-solving talent.
